Mia’s tasty spaghetti & turkey meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 pkg wheat noodles
- 1 cup Onion chopped
- 6 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 Carrot shredded
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 sprig rosemary 1 sprig thyme, 1 sprig parsley (all chopped) (or fresh herbs on
- 2 cans less sodium chopped tomatoes
- 1 lb extra lean ground turkey
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1 tsp italian seasoning
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
- 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/3 cup onion chopped
Instructions
- cook pasta according to package directions
- (omit salt and oil)
- SAUCE
- Heat oil in saucepan
- add onion & garlic, saute’ 5 min
- add carrot & red wine, bring to boil
- add tomato paste through chopped tomatoes, bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer
- Meatballs
- mix all ingredients together and form into 12 balls, bake at 400 F for 25 minutes (until done in center)
- Mix sauce with noodles, top with 3 Turkeyballs, sprinkle with a small amount of part-skim shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese
