Orange Beef Stir-fry
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons Soy sauce divided
- 1 pound Sirloin Or Flank Steak thinly sliced
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 Beef bouillon cube
- 1/2 cup Orange juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Orange peel grated
- 1/4 teaspoon Chili Flakes (Optional)
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 2 cups Mushrooms Thickly sliced
- 1 cup Carrots Coarsely grated
- 1 Red pepper Cut in strips
- 2 cups Broccoli Florets
- 4 Green onions sliced
- 1 tablespoon Ginger Grated
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 7 teaspoons Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Water
- 1 package Chinese Style noodles OR
- 3 cups Jasmine Rice Cooked
Instructions
- 1. Sprinkle 2 tbsp of the soy sauce over the steak strips and toss; set aside.
- 2. In a medium bowl, combine Milk and bouillon, mix well. Add orange juice, peel, Chilli flakes and remaining soy sauce; set aside.
- 3. In a large frying pan/wok, heat the oil over med-high heat until shimmering. Add beef strips and stir-fry in batches until beef is no longer pink. Transfer to a plate; set aside.
- 4. Add butter to the wok and sauce the mushrooms until softened. Add veggies, ginger root and garlic, stirring for 3 minutes. Pour in milk mixture and beef, stirring to combine. Bring to a boil.
- 5. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water and mix into the stir-fry until sauce begins to thicken. Remove from heat and serve over Chinese Noodles or Rice.
